DeSean Jackson, here Sunday during warmups, entered Sunday with 589 yards receiving, second in the league behind Jimmy Graham. (AP)

News, notes, observations and tweets from Eagles-Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field. For the latest stats and to watch our quarterly updates with Michael Barkann, Ray Didinger and Brian Westbrook, see In-Game Live. For our social media center, see Eagles Pulse.

As expected Michael Vick will not play. He's inactive along with safety Patrick Chung (shoulder). Here are the others.

Eagles win toss, will receive.

Eagles' ball, own 18

@RoobCSN: Eagles opening with two backs, three wides.

UGLY START: LeSean McCoy gained 16 yards on two touches (one catch, one run), but the Cowboys twice get to Nick Foles, first sacking him and then forcing him to throw it away -- and be called for intentional grounding. Nice 53-yard punt by Donnie Jones.

Cowboys' ball, own 34

DEFENSIVE STRUGGLE? The Eagles could never cover Jason Witten, who on first down catches a six-yard pass. Then rookie RB Joseph Randle, starting because DeMarco Murray and Lance Dunbar are both hurt, gets three, and Phillip Tanner is stuffed by DeMeco Ryans on 3rd-and-1.

@GeoffMosherCSN: Cowboys got no push on right side against Sopes and Thornton, allowed DeMeco to come in and make the play. #EaglesTalk

Eagles' ball, own 9

GOOD/BAD: Foles has time -- and rifles one to Riley Cooper for 14. Then on 3rd-and-1 (after a great cutback by Shady to avoid getting hit for a loss) runs for 12. But Foles lobs one to Zach Ertz that's almost picked, and after Bryce Brown falls down for +2, throws deep ... to Brown, who wasn't wide open, incomplete.

@GonzoCSN: Bryce Brown isn't catching that ball even if it's a perfect pass. Strange decision. #Eaglestalk

@GeoffMosherCSN: Bomb to Bryce not really a higher percentage play, even matched up 1-on-1 vs. LB. Shady, on the other hand... #EaglesTalk

Cowboys' ball, own 10

THERE WE GO: Now we're seeing some of the offense we expected. After Cole Beasley converts a 3rd-and-10 with an 11-yard catch, Tony Romo finds Jason Witten open for 26. Randle runs for 12, but DeMeco sacks Romo for minus-13. On 3rd-and-20, Terrance Williams gets 15 back, but the Cowboys curiously punt from the Eagles' 36. Chris Jones boots a 21-yarder, no return.

Eagles' ball, own 15

GOING NOWHERE: Two incompletions -- Jason Avant was crushed on the first one -- and a Foles scramble for 8. Punt.

@RoobCSN: Eagles averaging 6.6 yards per play through six games. They're averaging 3.5 yards per play so far today. #EaglesTalk

@NSlotkinCSN: 3 possessions, 3 punts for Eagles.  Foles not sharp  2-7, 25 yds and he is leading rusher with 20yds.

Cowboys' ball, own 30

THREE-AND-OUT: Beasley catch +12, stopped by Brandon Boykin a yard shy of the first down.

Eagles' ball, own 28

WRONG WAY: DeSean catch for minus-1. Shady runs all over the place, makes several Cowboys miss, yet loses seven. Foles tosses to Ertz for seven, on 3rd-and-18. Sheesh. What happened to the shootout?

@RoobCSN: Eagles have run 11 straight offensive plays without a LeSean McCoy run. #MartyBall #EaglesTalk

Cowboys' ball, own 20

RUSHING ROMO: Romo overthrows Witten, who was covered. Nate Allen blitzes and forces Romo to rush throw, incomplete. Then Vinny Curry sacks Romo. Romo is 6 for 12 for 89 yards.

Eagles' ball, own 30

ANOTHER PUNT: Riley Cooper breaks a tackle to gain 9 on 3rd-and-7, but the drive stalls. On 3rd-and-6, Foles throws behind Jeff Maehl, who can't hang on.

@NSlotkinCSN: Eagles punt for 5th time... Jeff Maehl drop but not great throw by Foles.  9 total punts so far for 30th, 32nd ranked defenses. #Eaglestalk

Cowboys' ball, own 8

INJURY UPDATE: LB Jake Knott, hamstring, return questionable.

PUNT AGAIN: Nice throw Romo, catch (was he inbounds?) by Williams (turn around Cary) +25, but Cedric Thornton stops Randle on consecutive carries, and Romo throws incomplete on 3rd-and-6.

Eagles' ball, own 26

THREE-AND-OUT: Foles is 8 for 15 for 43 yards.

@RoobCSN: Eagles' first five drives have netted an average of 12.8 yards. #EaglesTalk

Cowboys' ball, own 36

POINTS! Romo completes three straight passes (!), then is rushed and throws incomplete into traffic, then another incompletion, and Dan Bailey hits a 38-yard field goal.

Cowboys 3, Eagles 0

Drive: 8 plays, 44 yards, 3:42

Eagles' ball, own 20

BAD FOLES: Misses an open Celek for potential big gain, gets a break when Celek draws a holding flag, then badly misses Avant and runs (jogs) for five yards on 3rd-and-10.

@GeoffMosherCSN: Another bad throw by Foles. Avant was open across middle.

Cowboys' ball, own 26

THREE-AND-OUT: Incomplete to Dez Bryant on 3rd-and-3. Bryant has two catches for 34 yards.

Eagles' ball, own 22

FIELD GOAL ATTEMPT: From 60 yards. Alex Henery's attempt sails wide left. But hey, at least the Eagles moved the ball 36 yards on seven plays. It was 4th-and-1 at the 42 with 14 seconds left.

Cowboys' ball, 50

INTERCEPTION: Earl Wolff picks off the Hail Mary, his first career pick.

HALFTIME: 3-0 Cowboys

Cowboys' ball, own 34 (after 39-yard kickoff return by Dwayne Harris)

TOUCHDOWN: Romo completes four straight passes for 50 yards to give the Cowboys 1st-and-goal at the 2. A false start moves Dallas back, but on 3rd-and-4 Bradley Fletcher is called for pass interference while covering Dez Bryant, and Tanner runs in the game's first TD.

Cowboys 10, Eagles 0

Drive: 10 plays, 66 yards, 5:45

Eagles' ball, own 20

UGLINESS CONTINUES: Four plays, 0 net yards. Punt. Ugly pass on 3rd down to Avant wobbles incomplete.

@GeoffMosherCSN: Todd Herremans really struggling to keep Jason Hatcher from getting pressure. Several times.  #EaglesTalk

@NSlotkinCSN: Eagles punt for 8th time... only have 8 first downs and 120 total yds... this is the 3rd ranked offense in the NFL vs 30th ranked D.

Cowboys' ball, own 41

AFTER FURTHER REVIEW: What looked like a great catch by Miles Austin on 3rd-and-6 wasn't - incomplete, punt.

Eagles' ball, own 16

MORE BAD FOLES: Throws behind Maehl on first down, McCoy +6 on second, then is blitzed on third down, tries to hit DeSean in double coverage. Ugh. Boos cascade down at the Linc. Foles is 11 for 26 for 80 yards.

@GeoffMosherCSN: This is Foles' worst game since his first NFL start last year against the Redskins. He's just off.  #EaglesTalk

Cowboys' ball, own 32

NICE CATCH: Bullet to Dez Bryant gets 8, popped by Earl Wolff, who's shaken up on the play and replaced by Kurt Coleman. On the next play, after a Dallas timeout, DeMeco Ryans decks Bryant, ball falls incomplete. Guess it happened within five yards. Next play, offsetting penalties - although Cary Williams' was questionable. Bryant appeared to slip.

INTERCEPTION: Romo goes over the middle to Tanner but is picked by Ryans, returns it 36 yards.

Eagles' ball, own 30

DEEP BALL: Nice ball to DeSean in the back of the end zone, but safety J.J. Wilcox gets there to break it up.

DESEAN HURT: Shady gets 11, but DeSean is down. Walking gingerly on the sideline.

INTERCEPTION? Avant is open in the end zone, but Foles' pass is underthrown ... Avant slides for it, the ball pops up in the air and Wilcox picks it out of the air for the interception. Replays show Avant's hands under the ball.. but the call is overturned - the nose of the ball touched the ground. Huge break for the Eagles.

INJURY UPDATE: Wolff being examined for head injury. DeSean is back.

THROW THE BALL KID! Shady converts - barely - on 4th-and-1 from the 11, but then Foles twice holds on the ball too long. The first time, he drilled it into the ground. The second time, instead of just going out of bounds, he gets drilled into the ground. Foles heads to the locker room.. get ready for Matt Barkley.

FIELD GOAL ATTEMPT: Henery hits a 31-yarder.

Cowboys 10, Eagles 3

Drive (?): 10 plays, 17 yards, 2:49

Cowboys' ball, own 28

TOUCHDOWN: Romo completes 7 of 8 passes for 69 yards, the last completion a 9-yard TD to Williams.

Cowboys 17, Eagles 3

Drive: 10 plays, 72 yards, 5:32

FOLES OUT, MATT BARKLEY IN - Foles out, head injury.

Eagles' ball, own 20

INTERCEPTION: Barkley's first pick is erased by an offside penalty. He goes 3 for 4 for 29 yards before throwing another pick, and this one sticks. Sean Lee returns it 33 yards.

Cowboys' ball, Eagles' 38

THREE-AND-OUT: Hey, at least the defense is playing well.

Eagles' ball, own 3

INTERCEPTION: Phew. Barkley nearly sacked, steps up and throws ... to safety Barry Church.

And Barkley later adds another. Three interceptions in a quarter.

Final: Cowboys 17, Eagles 3
