Gunn's Bullet Points: Can Eagles' O rebound?

Share

The Eagles are looking to rebound from last week's loss to the 49ers with a win over the Rams. Here is a list of things to watch:

• If there was ever a week for LeSean McCoy to get his running game going, it's this Sunday. The Rams give up 155 yards rushing a game, and they’ve allowed a 100-yard rusher in each game this season.

• Get Darren Sproles more involved in the offense. In the first two games, Sproles had a combined 26 touches for 163 yards and two touchdowns. The last two games, he has had eight touches for 36 yards and no scores (not including the punt return TD).

• Keep a close eye on the matchup between Jason Peters and the Rams' Robert Quinn. In 2013, Quinn finished second in the league with 19 sacks.

• I don’t care what Chip Kelly, Pat Shurmur, and even Nick Foles say, I still believe Foles has some type of injury that has not been revealed. Taking the volume of shots he’s taken over the past few games has to take a physical toll on the body.

• Even if the Eagles win Sunday, and I fully expect them to, if the defense is on the field for over 35 minutes against this Rams offense they’ve got real problems.

• Lane Johnson finally returns, and he says he should be about 75 percent, conditioning-wise, for the game. I’ll take it considering the alternative options.

• The Rams' young quarterback Austin Davis is intriguing. He has started only three games in his career, but he’s completing 72 percent of his passes.

• The last time the Eagles saw Rams wideout Kenny Britt was back on Oct. 24, 2010, when he was with the Tennessee Titans. All he did was torch the Birds for seven catches, 225 yards and three touchdowns.

• Enjoy your NFL Sunday. I know I will.
