Jason Peters made the Pro Bowl, but he’s not going.

Peters, the Eagles’ left tackle who was recently named to his sixth Pro Bowl team and second Associated Press All-Pro team, has decided against going to Hawaii to participate in the annual exhibition.

Texans left tackle Duane Brown will fill Peters’ spot. The Eagles said Peters opted out on his own volition.

Peters, who came back from an Achilles tear that sidelined him all of 2012, played through nagging injuries this season, including a finger dislocation that he suffered on his left hand in the season opener against the Redskins that impacted him the whole season.

It’s unknown whether injuries or treatment are keeping Peters from attending this year’s Pro Bowl, but sources close to Peters said the offensive lineman has skipped the event in the past.
