Kelce questions Pierre-Paul's brains after 0-4 remark

Update: 3:05 p.m.

Jason Pierre-Paul's trash talk didn't add up, and Jason Kelce noticed.

The Giants' defensive end on Thursday continued the verbal battle between his team and the Eagles -- which has been driven mostly by the Giants -- by saying the Eagles could "easily have been 0-4."

The Birds, at 4-1, have played five games. Perhaps Pierre-Paul forgot to watch film of the other contest?

Kelce, on the shelf while he recovers from sports hernia surgery, responded Friday morning on 94-WIP, questioning Pierre-Paul's brains.

"Well my response to that is, I don’t think Jason Pierre-Paul is smart enough to come up with that statement on his own,” Kelce told Angelo Cataldi. "I think he’s the type of guy that just reiterates what his coaches have been telling him. So, I’m a little worried about Tom Coughlin’s math because I feel like maybe that’s where it was screwed up. Maybe it was just relayed to him."

If you aren't caught up to speed with all of the week's insults and mockery between the two teams, who meet Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. on NBC, here is a summary.

As for Kelce, he respects the Giants' three-game win streak but not their intelligence.

"That is correct," Kelce said when asked if he was unimpressed by the Giants' intellect. "They are a good football team though, but yes."

Former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, who won two Super Bowls with the team, then got his two cents in. A familiar two cents, at that.

"Insulting the @Giants staff/players intelligence?" Tynes tweeted. "The @Giants can at least count to 4, it's easy to count to 0!!! #justsaying #emptyfingers

The Eagles and Giants have split their season series three years in a row.
