Vikings: Mike Wallace acquired from Miami
A person with direct knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press the Minnesota Vikings have acquired wide receiver Mike Wallace from the Miami Dolphins.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Friday because the teams had not yet announced the trade.

The Vikings will send a fifth-round draft pick to the Dolphins for their seventh-round selection in the swap, two years after the Vikings tried to sign Wallace.

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin benched Wallace in the second half of their final game last season after an argument between the 28-year-old and the coaching staff. Wallace led Miami with 10 touchdowns in his second season with the team, but he rarely clicked with quarterback Ryan Tannehill on deep passes and was unhappy not to be targeted more.

Steelers: Roethlisberger extended for 5 years
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers say they have agreed with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on a contract extension.

The team announced the deal Friday on Twitter without giving details. The move keeps the two-time Super Bowl winner in Pittsburgh beyond a previous deal that was set to expire after the 2015 season.

The 33-year-old cornerstone of the franchise threw for 4,952 yards last season, breaking his own team record and tying with Drew Brees for the most yards passing in 2014. Roethlisberger also had 32 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said last month that negotiations with Roethlisberger had begun with the goal of keeping him in black and gold for the rest of his career.

Roethlisberger enters his 12th season this year.

Bills: Harvin signs for 1 year
Percy Harvin is rejoining Rex Ryan, agreeing to a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills.

Two people familiar with the deal tell The Associated Press on Friday that the wide receiver-kick returner is headed to Buffalo. He was released this month by the Jets after playing for Ryan last season in New York.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract was not officially announced.

The Jets acquired the versatile Harvin from Seattle last October, but he was due $10.5 million in base salary in 2015. Harvin had 29 catches for 350 yards and a touchdown in eight games with the Jets after then-general manager John Idzik acquired him, calling the move "a potential coup" for New York. Harvin also ran for 110 yards on 22 carries, and averaged 24.8 yards on 20 kickoff returns.

Chiefs: Former Eagle Avant joins KC
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs have signed wide receiver Jason Avant, defensive back Kelcie McCray and tight end Richard Gordon as they continue a busy first week of free agency.

The Chiefs also signed long snapper James Winchester to a two-year deal Friday.

Avant joined the Chiefs in the middle of last season, giving them a veteran presence on a young wide receiver corps. McCray and Gordon are considered solid depth at their positions.

The signings came one day after the Chiefs traded a fifth-round draft pick to New Orleans for offensive guard Ben Grubbs and signed offensive lineman Paul Fanaika, a former Cardinals starter.

Kansas City also signed wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and safety Tyvon Branch this week, and released veteran wide receiver Dwayne Bowe in a cost-saving move.
