NFC East Notes: Will Cruz be Giant long term?

Even though Victor Cruz has signed a one-year, $2.879 million tender offer, he could still hold out from training camp if he isn't given the long-term deal he wants from the Giants.

Now that Cruz is under contract, he will be fined if he does in fact hold out, but according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN (via ProFootballTalk), that shouldn't be an issue.

“Everybody I’ve spoken to expects that deal to absolutely get done, to a 100 percent degree of certainty, that Victor Cruz will have a new contract by the time the Giants open training camp,” Mortensen said on NFL Live Monday.

Last season, Cruz led the Giants in receptions (86), receiving yards (1,092) and touchdown catches (10).

Redskins: Focus group talks team name, RFK Stadium?
The Redskins hired Frank Luntz, a political strategist, to run focus groups and receive feedback on the organization's team name.

But according to the Washington Post (via ProFootballTalk), the focus groups are discussing much more than just the team name.

“That came up, but that was just one of literally hundreds of topics that was being spoken about,” Richard Dassing, a 65-year old retired D.C. police sergeant and lifelong Redskins fan, told Dan Steinberg of the Post. “We covered every topic, from the game experience, the fan experience, management, owners, players, the draft, the name, who was offended, who wasn’t offended, why it offended them. It was interesting, to say the least. Anything and everything that could be asked in a two-hour focus group, it was talked about.”

According to Dassing, Luntz asked in the meeting, “Who would like to see a game played at RFK Stadium?”

Dassing said “the place just erupted. He pointed to just about everybody there, and said when I say RFK Stadium, what do you think about? The Hogs, the ’80s, tradition, Super Bowls. It just went on and on, and everybody was in favor of that. Of all the topics, I would say that was the most popular topic that was talked about."

Cowboys: Costa to marry Hogan’s daughter
It looks like Cowboys fans might be seeing Hulk Hogan on Sundays at Cowboys Stadium.

Phil Costa, a center for the Cowboys, and Brooke Hogan, Hulk's daughter, got engaged last weekend.

Brooke Hogan posted a picture of the special moment on Instagram and wrote this:

"Happiest moment of my LIFE. I am marrying my best friend. I [wouldn't] choose anyone else. I am so lucky and so grateful."
