NFL Notes: LeSean McCoy could miss 3 more games

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- LeSean McCoy can't outrun an injury to his left hamstring that could potentially sideline the star Buffalo running back for another month.

McCoy said Friday the medical staff gave him a three- to four-week timetable to recover from the injury he aggravated during practice Sept. 24. That could delay his return until after the Bills come back from their bye week off to host the Dolphins on Nov. 8.

McCoy referred to himself as "a quick healer," but acknowledged he doesn't want to rush back too soon from what's been diagnosed as a Grade 2 pull. That's the mistake McCoy said he made in playing in Buffalo's season-opener Sept. 13 after he was initially hurt during a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 18 (see full story).

Broncos: Sambrailo out, Mathis iffy for game at Oakland
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Four of the Denver Broncos' starting O-linemen were either hobbled or sidelined at practice this week and one of them, left tackle Ty Sambrailo, will miss his second straight game Sunday with a sore left shoulder.

So, coach Gary Kubiak plans to rotate rookie guard Max Garcia, who has taken two NFL snaps, and newcomer Tyler Polumbus into the lineup against the Oakland Raiders (2-2).

"I think that we need to rotate some guys, I think we do. We have some veteran players like Ryan (Harris) who are a little beat up right now this early in the season and I think that it will make us a better team if our young players continue to contribute," Kubiak said Friday.

The Broncos (4-0) will go with the same O-line they had last week against Minnesota, with Harris moving from right tackle to the left edge to protect Peyton Manning's blindside and Michael Schofield replacing Harris (see full story).

Packers: Tackle Bryan Bulaga could return to face Rams
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga could return for Sunday's game against St. Louis after missing the last three weeks with a left knee injury.

Coach Mike McCarthy says Bulaga is doing well after the first two days of practice. Bulaga says he won't talk about Sunday, though he is happy with his progress.

He was listed as questionable on Friday for the Rams game, though his status could change after the team's next practice on Saturday.

Getting Bulaga back would boost a front five that must match up against St. Louis' tough defensive front.

Bulaga missed the 2013 season with a torn ligament in his left knee. He says rehab for the latest injury has gone well. When asked if he was optimistic about Bulaga's availability for Sunday, McCarthy said "So far, so good, yes."
