NFL Notes: Raiders re-sign Joselio Hanson

The Raiders have re-signed cornerback Joselio Hanson, who played in all 16 games for Oakland last season. Hanson tied a career-high with two interceptions, had a career-high 68 tackles and had a forced fumble in 2012, his eighth NFL season.

Hanson will be entering his second season with the Raiders after spending the previous six with the Eagles. For his career, he has six interceptions, 3.5 sacks and has missed only eight games.

Patriots sign Sanders to offer sheet

The Patriots have submitted a one-year offer sheet to Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, according to In his three years with Pittsburgh, Sanders had 94 catches and five touchdowns, averaging 13.7 yards per catch.

If the Steelers do not match the Patriots' offer within the five-day window, they will receive New England’s third-round pick in this year’s draft.

Patriots sign Tommy Kelly

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have signed former Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Tommy Kelly.

Kelly, who started all 80 games for the Raiders during the past five seasons, was released on March 27.

Since joining the Raiders as a rookie free agent out of Mississippi State in 2004, Kelly has started 117 of the 129 games in which he's played and has 34 sacks, one interception, nine forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 419 tackles.

He had 45 tackles last season with one sack and one fumble recovery.

The Patriots went 12-4 last year, and won the AFC East.
