PST: Boykin would welcome another cornerback

The Eagles have consistently said they will take the best player available once the NFL draft gets underway later this week.

With the Birds leaving their options open, that means any position could see some added competition once the team is officially on the clock.

Brandon Boykin said on Tuesday's edition of "Philly Sports Talk" that it's just fine with him if the Eagles go cornerback with their crop of picks.

"You always welcome it. Everybody understands it's the NFL, turnover rate is crazy," Boykin said. "You need depth at certain positions. Injuries happen and you need specific players and people to do certain things every year.

"We need more talent, we need more corners. Whoever comes in, we're gonna them and get them ready to play."

That being said, Boykin isn't about to just hand over his spot at the Eagles' nickel cornerback if the front office adds to that area in the draft.

When asked if he thinks he is the NFL's best slot corner, Boykin said, "I do. I'm gonna end it with that."
