Alex Henery missed a field goal against the Kansas City Chiefs. He also committed a penalty that hit him hard in the wallet.
The NFL fined the Eagles’ third-year kicker $15,750 for his horse-collar tackle in the third quarter on former Eagles safety Quintin Demps during a kick return in last Thursday’s 26-16 loss to Kansas City at the Linc, according to a league source.
Right after Henery’s 29-yard field goal cut Kansas City’s lead to 16-9, his kickoff went six yards deep in the Chiefs’ end zone.
Demps took the ball out of the end zone and made safety Patrick Chung miss at the 15-yard line before Henery dragged him out of bounds around the 31. Henery not only horse-collared Demps but was also flagged 15 yards for a facemask, which was declined.
Here’s the video evidence, which is a little blurry:
As you can see, Henery’s hands are on Demps’ facemask. They eventually make their way onto Demps’ collar.
