Oh, yeah. Claude Giroux returned to the ice last night.
Overshadowed a bit in the excitement of seeing our hockey team turn into television stars on HBO last night was the fact that the Flyers played an exciting hockey game against the Dallas stars and walked away with two points and the NHL's scoring leader.
Giroux returned to action after missing four games with a concussion and he was was white hot, putting up his third four-point night of the season which moves him back ahead of Phil Kessel despite having player 4 or 5 games less. [highlights below]
The Flyers looked terrible out of the gate, and the G line was actually on the ice for the first goal of the game, putting Dallas up 1-0. A turnover, poor back checking, and a meek save attempt from Bob was not how Flyers fans wanted to start the night, but that was pretty much the end of it. Bob was dominant the rest of the way, and the G Line was a pleasure to watch. Jagr couldn't get anything going in his absence, but was back on his game last night.
The power play was back on track too, scoring on two of five opportunities.
It was also one of the roughest games of the season so far, which is interesting in that the tens never see each other.
A nice road win and more importantly a fantastic showing from Claude Giroux. Boy, is it nice to see him return and dominate.
