And Claude Giroux may have played his final game of the season for the Flyers. How do you feel about that?

BREAKING NEWS: Claude Giroux was given a 1 game suspension by the NHL for a hit on Dainius Zubrus during the 2nd period of last night’s game

— Philadelphia Flyers (@NHLFlyers) May 7, 2012

Here's the NHL's explanation video of the one-game suspension by Brendan Shanahan:

"Giroux chops down across Zubrus's stick and then well after the puck has been chipped into the corner, Giroux comes across Zubrus's body, and drive upwards with his shoulder making principal point of contact with Zubrus's head."

"When you look at this shift in its entirety, including the violent chop of the stick, coupled with the lateness of the hit, we feel this reckless picking of the head rises to the level of supplemental discipline."
