They're all pretty important for the playoff push at this point but they're especially so when the opponent is just 4 points behind in the standings.

The Flyers host the Columbus Blue Jackets this evening at the Wells Fargo Center and there'll be a rather unique goalie matchup.

Former Flyer Sergei Bobrovsky will take on former Blue Jacket Steve Mason. Many Flyers fans lamented Bob's success last season, and understandably so, but Mason has really stepped up to put the Age-Old Philadelphia Goalie Question out of mind for the time being. So that Bob debacle doesn't linger as much as it could have.

CSN Flyers scribe Sarah Baicker spoke to the players about the funky matchup:

It’s Bob’s first start as a Blue Jacket in Philly since he was traded.

“It’s going to be a good battle for both of them,” Voracek said. “I think it’s going to be special, as well. It’s going to be exciting for Mase and for Bob. Hopefully we’re going to come up with a win at the end.”

The two goalies are pretty evenly matched. Mason has a .916 save percentage and 2.53 goals-against average, while Bobrovsky has a .919 save percentage and 2.47 goals-against average.

A Flyers' loss would certainly put the team's current position on shaky ground, and a win would obviously add some desired cushion.

Should be a fun one, 7:00 puck drop.
