Brayden Schenn on Friday was fined $2,230.77 by the NHL for his cross-check to the head of Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg, a former Flyer, during Wednesday's 7-2 loss to Chicago.

Schenn was not penalized for the hit, which occurred in the second period.

The fine was the highest permitted under the NHL's CBA.

Last season, the 22-year-old Schenn was suspended for charging Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov.
