Flyers captain Claude Giroux will play his first preseason game on Tuesday night when the New Jersey Devils visit Wells Fargo Center.
The club “announced” it via Instagram, by posting a photo of Giroux’s sweater hanging in the dressing room asking, “Guess who’s back in the lineup?”
Giroux indicated on Monday that he would not dress because his surgically repaired right hand still wasn’t feeling 100 percent.
“I mean, it’s the preseason,” Giroux said. “It’s different in the regular season. If this was the regular season, I’d have been playing a long time ago, but it’s just making sure it’s 100 percent and not taking a risk. I mean, we still have a week and half before the season, and I’d be not smart just to rush it.”
There was no morning skate Tuesday. Apparently, Giroux now feels a lot better than he did at Monday's practice.
