Monday night was extra special for Scott Hartnell.

Not only did the Flyers notch their ninth straight win at home to move into third place of the Metropolitan Division and a playoff spot (see story), but Hartnell also recorded his 500th career NHL point -- an assist on Luke Schenn’s goal in the first period (see highlights).

“It's special and pretty cool," Hartnell said. "Luke made a great shot."

The point also made the 31-year-old Flyer appreciate his profession that much more.

"It has been a great run so far," Hartnell said. "Playing in the NHL is the best job in the world.”
