Flyers sign Gervais, Fedotenko from Tampa

Ruslan Fedotenko, who began his NHL career with the Flyers at the start of this decade and wound his way through the league with four other teams, has returned home.

The 33-year-old left wing, who won two Stanley Cups and scored the Game 7 game-winner for Tampa Bay in 2004, was signed Thursday as a free agent to give the Flyers scoring depth. Fedotenko also won a Cup with Pittsburgh in 2009.

Fedotenko signed a one-year deal worth 1.75 million.

Fedotenko played the past two seasons with the Rangers. He will make up about half the offense the Flyers lost when Jaromir Jagr went to Dallas this week. Though his numbers have been in decline, theres no reason Feds cant give the Flyers 30-35 points a season.

The Flyers, as expected, also signed 27-year-old Tampa Bay free agent defenseman Bruno Gervais to a two-year contract worth 1.650 million.
