Giroux: Flyers ‘working hard' but ‘wrong'

You need only to look back to May 2010 to dig up the last time -- and the only time -- when the Flyers came back from a series trailing 3-1 to win it.

They trailed the Boston Bruins 3-0 in that one.

Yet the New Jersey Devils and the Bruins play a very different brand of hockey and right now, the Devils have broken the Flyers' will in virtually every aspect of play, except in goal where Ilya Bryzgalov has given his team a chance to compete and to win through every game in this series with little help in front.

I don't think it's a matter of effort. I think it's the way we're working, Claude Giroux said. I think everyone is working hard. It's just we're working wrong.

We should know what we're supposed to do out there. We've been playing the same system the whole year. I don't know. We'll look at some tapes.

The Flyers are 1-14 all-time in series they trail by 3-1. They are also 8-7 in Game 5 when trailing, 3-1.

Of the 14 series they did not win, the Flyers forced a Game 7 three times: the 1987 Stanley Cup Final vs. Edmonton; the 1981 quarterfinal vs. Calgary; and the 1968 quarterfinal vs. St. Louis.
