Sources told CSNPhilly.com that free agent defenseman Kurtis Foster will be the Flyers' first signing under the new CBA.
The signing will likely be announced Sunday.
Its uncertain whether this will be a one-year deal or multi-year contract.
Foster, 31, was given a clean bill of health from his broken collarbone injury of last season.
The 6-foot-5, 226-pound defenseman played for Minnesota, Anaheim and New Jersey in 2011-12.

He would be an immediate upgrade for the Flyers, who are desperate for veteran depth given their injury situation.
Andrej Meszaros is very questionable to start the season, as he is recovering from right Achilles tendon surgery from the offseason.
Erik Gustafsson has a deep bone bruise in his right foot, and Marc-Andre Bourdon has post-concussion syndrome.
At the moment, depth pickup Bruno Gervais and seventh defenseman Andreas Lilja would be forced into full-time starting roles.
Young Luke Schenn is making a first-year transition here from Toronto. Another veteran presence is needed.
Foster offers a big presence but he isnt quite as mobile as he once was. Pencil him in as a No. 5 or 6 on the Flyers.
