BOX SCORE

Two NHL starts for Rob Zepp in goal for the Flyers and two victories.

The 33-year-old, called up from the Phantoms over the weekend because of a right knee injury to Steve Mason, wasn’t overly impressive, yet the Flyers routed the Tampa Bay Lightning, 7-3, at Wells Fargo Center.

Seven different Flyers representing all four lines scored. The Flyers finished their homestand 3-1.

Zepp needed all those goals because the Lightning scored three times on their first 12 shots against him. In a tight game, that’s a Flyers loss. Zepp was, however, better in the final period.

The Flyers tallied three power-play goals for just the second time all season. The seven goals tied their season-best from Dec. 20 at Toronto.

It was 2-1 when the Flyers scored twice in the opening 2:36 of the second period to chase starting goalie Evgeni Nabokov for Ben Bishop, whose fate wasn’t much better.

Craig Berube’s team is now 7-1 this season when Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek have multi-point efforts in the same game.

Notable goals
How about Voracek’s booming, one-timer on the power play early in the second period that made it 3-1? It was Voracek’s eighth power-play goal and 18th power-play point of the season.

Goalie report
Nabokov gave up four goals on 13 shots. Bishop also struggled, allowing three goals on 12 shots. Zepp finished with 21 saves on 24 shots.

Power play
Voracek, Mark Streit and Brayden Schenn all scored. Tampa was 2 for 3. The Flyers were 3 for 4.

Penalty kill
Fortunately, it wasn’t its usual negative factor in this one, even though the Flyers' PK units allowed one to Steven Stamkos.

Stamkos
Stamkos’ first-period power-play goal gave him four goals in three games against the Flyers this season and, even more impressive, 18 goals in 23 career games against them.

Injuries
Braydon Coburn blocked a first-period shot off his left foot and did not return (see story).

Fights
Brenden Morrow decisioned Andrew MacDonald in the third period.

Scratches
Defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo (healthy), forward Zac Rinaldo (healthy) and Mason (injured right knee).

Up next
The Flyers travel to Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to face the Capitals, who occupy the fourth seed in the Metro Division.
