With the trade deadline Wednesday afternoon, the Flyers will be looking more toward the future than acquiring a quick fix.

Here is a quick recap of Tuesday's action in the NHL.

Sabres end Penguins' winning streak
The Pittsburgh Penguins' 15-game wining streak was snapped by Buffalo on Tuesday night.

The Penguins, who were without Sidney Crosby, were handed their first lost in over a month with a 4-1 defeat to the Sabres.

Kevin Porter notched two goals for the Sabres, while Steve Ott and Cody Hodgson each scored one.

The Penguins' only goal came from Jarome Iginla, which was his first goal with Pittsburgh since being traded.

Ryan Miller, who surpassed Dominik Hasek for the most games played by a Sabres goaltender, notched 19 saves in the victory (see full recap).

Islanders easily beat Jets
The New York Islanders easily beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Frans Nielsen's power-play goal in the second period broke a 2-2 tie that proved to be the game winner.

Kevin Poulin made 23 saves to notch his first victory over the season.

The Islanders moved past the idle New York Rangers for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with the victory (see full recap).

Horton lifts Bruins past Senators
The Boston Bruins beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Tuesday.

Andre Benoit tied the game at 2-2 nearly two minutes into the third period after the officials reviewed that the puck went in just under the crossbar than came out.

Nathan Horton broke the tie midway through the third period with his 12th goal of the season.

The Bruins earned their second straight victory behind a season-high 50 shots (see full recap).
