Flyers right wing Jakub Voracek, who was slashed on his left hand during Monday’s game against the New York Islanders, will play tonight against Carolina.

He was questionable for this game had it been played on Tuesday as scheduled, but the snow postponement allowed an additional day for Voracek to feel better (see story).

“I think he’s fine and he’ll be fine to play,” said coach Craig Berube. “It shouldn’t be any problem.”

Voracek was slashed by Cal Clutterbuck early in the third period of Monday’s 4-3 shootout loss on Long Island. Although he returned to the bench late in regulation, the hand was hurting and swollen.

“He was ready to go back but his hand wasn’t good and he couldn’t go,” Berube said.

Loose pucks
Steve Mason will be in goal tonight. ... Because the Flyers now face a back-to-back situation with Columbus on Thursday, Berube said it may alter his goaltending plans tomorrow.
