Jimmy Rollins: Hip Hop Mogul

Jimmy Rollins: Hip Hop Mogul

Jimmy Rollins has his own entertainment company known as Rollins Entertainment and a music company known as Bay Slugga's Inc.  How the two relate exactly is a bit unclear to me.  Details from AllHipHop.com:

Rollins’ move into entertainment falls in line with the aspiring mogul’s goal of capitalizing on any given opportunity for success.

"I am not a 'what if' kind of person ... I am trying to accomplish and explore everything that I can while I'm still young. That's why I flipped the script from an employee of the Phillies to an employer with Rollins Entertainment," he explained. "I am a business man. I have advisors and investments and so forth, but I choose to take a proactive role in my business pursuits and with imagination and dedication, create other opportunities for myself as well."

Jimmy has aspirations in baseball and music but is also looking to give back.  The Jimmy Rollins Foundation is set to launch this year to help inner city youths.

The Phillie Phanatic got a date with a Dodgers reporter, spilled all over her

The Phillie Phanatic is nothing if not persistent.

When he has his big bug eyes set on something, he goes to great length to make it happen.

So it was with great joy we got to see his wooing of Los Angeles Dodgers' reporter Alanna Rizzo paid off on Thursday -- at least in the short term.

Prior to today's matinee with the Dodgers, the Phillies broadcast showed the Phanatic setting up a lovely, romantic setting on the field at Citizens Bank Park for a date with Alanna.

"He knows exactly how to get to a ladies' heart," Phillies play-by-play man Tom McCarthy said.

But then the Phanatic had to go screw it up like the goof that he is and spilled his beverage all over his date.

We're hoping that Phyllis does not see this clip, for everyone's sake. But part of us thinks it may have all been a ploy to punk the opposing team's media member. Maybe the Phanatic is smarter than we all think and had that up his sleeve all along.

"Do they have to put him in a cage when they take a flight," John Kruk wondered aloud.

Good question.
