Cameron Reddish chooses Duke over Villanova, others

Cameron Reddish is not staying home.

The five-star recruit out of Norristown, Pennsylvania, and the Westtown School committed to Duke on Friday night, choosing Mike Krzyzewski's Blue Devils over Villanova, as well as Kentucky, UCLA and UConn.

Reddish, a 6-foot-7, 203-pound wing considered the top 2018 recruit in Pennsylvania, announced his commitment on The Players' Tribune.

Here's a section of it:

People say I’m laid back. They say I’m quiet. But they don’t see what’s most important. They don’t see the work. To me, basketball is about what you do when no one’s watching. The way I see it, I’m not a prospect. I’m a work in progress. There’s always more to learn.

And that’s why I’m going somewhere that I can be challenged as a leader, challenged as a student, challenged to grow up, on and off the court.

That’s why I’ll be attending Duke University.

Reddish is the nation's third-ranked 2018 recruit by ESPN, behind only R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson.

For 2018, Villanova already has two four-star commits in Cole Swider and Brandon Slater.
