St. Joe's forward Halil Kanacevic will miss the next few games because of a death in his family, the school announced Friday.
Kanacevic will head back to his family's homeland of Montenegro after the passing of his uncle.
A specific timetable for return is uncertain as the Hawks hit the road for games at Duquesne, VCU and Penn.
In 10 games this season, the 6-foot-8 junior is averaging 7.1 points per game and 7.2 rebounds in 30.3 minutes of action.
In the team's A-10 opening loss to 14th-ranked Butler, Kanacevic played 22 minutes off the bench, grabbed seven rebounds and scored five points.
St. Joe's (8-5, 0-1 A-10) meets Duquesne (7-8, 0-1 A-10) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
