If the Temple Owls are going to be better next season, they'll have a chance to show it early.

The field for the 2014 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic was announced Tuesday morning, and Temple will join Duke, Stanford and UNLV as the four participants.

The two-day event will be held at Barclays Center on Nov. 21-22. All four games will be broadcast on truTV.

"It is an honor to be participating in such a prestigious tournament as the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic," coach Fran Dunphy said in a statement. "The Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Program is something that we, as coaches, are proud to support.  So to be playing in this tournament is not only great for our team and our fans, but also helps to continue to raise awareness and money to combat this deadly disease."

The rest of the non-conference schedule will be announced later this year, but in addition to its Big 5 schedule, Temple is also expected to host Kansas at Wells Fargo Center in the return match of a home-and-home that started last season at Allen Fieldhouse.

As for league play, Louisville and Rutgers will be leaving the American Athletic Conference this summer. They'll be replaced in the conference by East Carolina, Tulane and Tulsa.

Temple plays its home finale Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts UCF. Dalton Pepper will be the lone Owl honored on senior night.
