DAYTON, Ohio – The NCAA released the start time for Sunday’s third-round game in the East Regional. No. 9 Temple will take on No. 1 Indiana at 2:45 p.m. at UD Arena.
The Owls (24-9) advanced to the round of 32 by beating the eighth-seed, N.C. State, 76-72, on Friday (see story). It was Temple’s second NCAA Tournament win under head coach Fran Dunphy.
The Hoosiers (28-6) reached the third-round game by dismantling overmatched No. 16 James Madison, 83-62. Indiana was the Big Ten regular season champion this year and made it to the Sweet 16 last season.
In other Big 5 action, No. 13 La Salle will face No. 12 Ole Miss at 7:40 p.m. at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. on Sunday night.
The Explorers (23-9) took down fourth-seed Kansas State in a historic and dramatic 63-61 victory on Friday (see story). Jerrell Wright led the way for La Salle with a career-high 21 points.
The Rebels (27-8) were lifted to a 57-46 win over fifth-seed Wisconsin by guard Marshall Henderson on Friday. Henderson missed 12 of his first 13 shots but recovered to finish the game with 19 points.
