As four of the City 6 were in action on Wednesday night, there's just one game on the slate Thursday, with the Drexel Dragons traveling to Fairfax, Va. for a matchup with the George Mason Patriots:

Previous games
Drexel was riding its first three-game win streak of the season before coming up just short again rival Delaware, 66-64, on Monday night. The Dragons rallied back from a 15-point deficit with less than five minutes to play but missed three opportunities to take the lead in the final minute. Sophomore guard Damion Lee finished with a career-high 30 points, and scored seven straight in 44 seconds during Drexel's failed comeback.

George Mason returns home after a suffering a beating, 71-51, at Northeastern, who's 8-1 record leads the the CAA. The 20-point disparity was GMU's largest margin of defeat this season. Prior to that game last Sunday, the Patriots' largest loss to date was just 10 -- and that was when it played Northeastern the first time on Jan. 3. Just like Drexel, GMU's last loss snapped a three-game wiin streak.

Top players
Lee leads Drexel and is second in the conference in points per game, averaging 18.2, while junior point guard Frantz Massenat leads the CAA in assists, handing out 4.4 per game. Senior Darryl McCoy leads the Dragons in rebounding, pulling down 8.2 boards in only 26.7 minutes.

For GMU, 6-foot-4 guard Sherrod Wright trails Lee by just a tenth of a point, averaging 18.1 per game, and also leads his team in rebounds per game (5.1) and field goal-percentage (49.8). Other than Wright, no other Patriot scores more than seven a game.

Hope you like defense
If you're wondering how GMU wins games with one 6-4 guard doing pretty much everything offensively, as a team, they surrender the fewest points in the CAA (62.6) and own the conference's best scoring magin (+2.3).

Second on the point-allowed list: the Drexel Dragons with 63.6 points allowed per contest.

House of Horrors
Dating back to the 2010-11 season, George Mason has lost only three of its 36 home games at the Patriot Center. GMU is 6-2 this season.

Drexel has not won at the Patriot Center since 2004-05. The Dragons have lost in their last four opportunities in Fairfax.
