Watch: Aaric Murray lights up Temple for 48

You may remember Aaric Murray best for his worry-free neck tattoo, but now he'll be remembered in Philadelphia for something much more impressive. The former La Salle Explorer lit up the Temple Owls on Wednesday night for 48 points, a new Liacouras Center record, surpassing Lynn Greer -- who once fouled me in a Narberth Summer League game -- who held the previous mark of 43.

The 48 points are the most scored by any Division I player in a single game this season and the most ever scored by a player against Temple.

Murray now plays for Texas Southern after getting the boot from both La Salle and West Virginia. His 48 point outburst last night helped the Tigers upset the Owls 90-89.

TU coach Fran Dunphy with the final word on Murray's big night:

"It was very impressive, obviously," Temple coach Fran Dunphy said before adding, "It wasn't much fun to watch."
