Flyers Call up Defenseman Bartulis From Phantoms

The Flyers have recalled defenseman Oskars Bartulis from their AHL affiliate Adirondack Phantoms.

Though Bartulis, who is 6-foot-2 and 195-pounds, will be available to play in Sunday night's game against the San Jose Sharks at the Wachovia Center, he is not expected to play.

Coach John Stevens said Bartulis was called up because one of the Flyers defenseman was questionable heading into Sunday's game. He will wear no. 38.

In parts of three seasons with the Phantoms, Bartulis, 22, has registered 37 points (5 goals) and 113 penalty minutes. In eight games this season, he has two goals, one assist and 12 penalty minutes.
