After a surprise run to the Rose Bowl in 2016, Penn State continued to build toward the future with the commitment of four-star wide receiver Shaquon Anderson-Butts on Saturday.

Anderson-Butts, from Harrisburg High School, made the announcement in a tweet Saturday.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver turned down offers from Oregon and Florida to join his the local team.

Scout.com ranks Anderson-Butts as the 58th-best wide receiver in the 2018 class and the top receiver from Pennsylvania.

Here is the scouting report on the rising high school senior:

"Anderson-Butts has big-play ability and can run past a cornerback for the deep ball. He has good ball skills and he understands how to use his body to seal off a defender. He is elusive after the catch, and he accelerates well. Anderson-Butts is smooth, and he is fluid coming out of his breaks. He needs to add strength, but that should come as he continues to mature."

Anderson-Butts caught 38 passes for 779 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2016.

While Anderson-Butts highlights the 2018 class, James Franklin and Penn State will welcome the 15th-ranked recruiting class in all of college football to campus this season.
