Both Dario Saric and Joel Embiid were named to NBA's 2016-17 All-Rookie First Team, becoming the first pair of Sixers to share the honor in the same season.
This marks the fourth consecutive season the Sixers have had a player receive First Team All-Rookie honors (Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor).
The All-Rookie team announcement comes hours before the NBA Awards in which Saric and Embiid are both finalists for Rookie of the Year alongside Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon. Here's a look at their odds of winning tonight.
Saric played 81 games (36 starts) and averaged 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists while taking on a larger role toward the end of the season. Embiid played just 31 games but averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.5 blocks in just 25.4 minutes per game.
Saric was a unanimous selection by 100 voters while Embiid appeared on just 89 ballots, receiving 82 first-place votes and seven second-place votes. Brogdon was the only other unanimous selection. Kings guard Buddy Hield and Knicks center Willy Hernangomez rounded out the first team.
Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, Celtics forward Jaylen Brown, Suns forward Marquese Chriss, Lakers forward Brandon Ingram and Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrall made All-Rookie Second Team.
