Joel Embiid (left knee) questionable Monday vs. Kings

CHICAGO — Joel Embiid didn’t travel with the 76ers for Sunday night’s game and the team is waiting to see if he’ll be ready when they return to Philadelphia.

The Sixers said the 7-foot-2 rookie received treatment on the left knee that kept him out of a pair of games last week and will be a game-time decision when they host Sacramento on Monday (see game notes).

Embiid returned from the two-game absence Friday night and coach Brett Brown said he did not think the team rushed the center back into action.

“It’s more just some soreness,” Brown said before Sunday night’s game against the Bulls. “I think we’ll learn more when we get to Philadelphia.”

Embiid had 32 points — one off his career high — and seven rebounds in Friday’s 123-118 loss to Houston. He’s the first rookie since the 2009-10 season with at least 19 games of 20-plus points.

Monday’s game is a makeup of a December matchup that was postponed because of moisture on the Wells Fargo Center court.
