Eagles-Giants bullet points: Fletcher Cox vs. Eli Manning

Share

Breaking down nine bullet points heading into the Eagles' Week 6 matchup against the New York Giants at Lincoln Financial Field:

• Let's hope the Eagles' offense can get it rolling right from their first possession. Of the 13 touchdown drives they've had this season, 10 of them have come in the second half and six of Sam Bradford's eight TD passes have also come in the latter half.

• So far Eli Manning is having a special season: 65.5 completion percentage, 1,417 passing yards, 10 TDs and just two interceptions.

• This will be the 167th meeting between the Eagles and Giants. The Birds have faced the G-men more than any other team in franchise history.

• This game features the NFC defensive player of the week in Fletcher Cox (six solo tackles, three QB sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery vs. New Orleans) and the NFC offensive player of the week in Manning (41 of 54, 441 yards and three TDs vs. San Francisco).

• Chip Kelly is 3-1 vs. the Giants, outscoring them, 104-62.

• Keep an eye on Giants running back Shane Vereen. He has become one of Eli's favorite targets. Vereen is third on the team in receptions (20) and receiving yards (208), and he averages 10.4 yards per catch.

• As bad as the Giants' pass defense is, the team does have five interceptions. That's just one less than the Eagles' D, which has six.

• The Eagles have won four of their past six meetings with the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field.

• Giants wideouts Odell Beckham Jr. (questionable) and Rueben Randle (probable) are dealing with hamstring issues. I'm sure I speak for every Eagles fan in the tri-state region when I say hopefully Beckham decides to sit this one out.
