Eagles Injury Update: Cox, Braman return, McKelvin still out

While Fletcher Cox (ankle) and Bryan Braman (shoulder) both returned to practice on Thursday morning, Leodis McKelvin did not.

The Eagles' veteran cornerback is still dealing with a left hamstring injury that kept him out against Chicago and Pittsburgh, and forced him to miss time in Sunday's loss to the Lions. McKelvin has now missed the first two practice days this week.

Although head coach Doug Pederson said on Monday that McKelvin would be ready for this weekend, McKelvin on Thursday said he isn't sure whether or not he'll be ready to play this Sunday against Washington. He said he'll test out his hamstring on Friday.

If the Eagles don't have McKelvin, they'll go with rookie seventh-rounder Jalen Mills, who has seen significant action in McKelvin's absence, and nickel corner Ron Brooks. Even if McKelvin does play, Mills might get some snaps depending on how the hamstring holds up.

The Eagles also added rookie C.J. Smith to the active roster to fill the spot left by Lane Johnson's suspension (see story)

As for the Redskins, dangerous tight end Jordan Reed again missed practice with a concussion.
