MIAMI -- The NFL says the Miami Dolphins' season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be postponed until Nov. 19 because of Hurricane Irma.
The game can be moved to Week 11 because that had been a bye week for both teams. NFL officials earlier announced the game would not be played in Miami this week, and then decided against moving it to a neutral site.
Irma is forecast to threaten South Florida this weekend.
Both teams had said switching the game to Nov. 19 was less than ideal because it means playing the entire season without a break.
The Dolphins will now open Sept. 17 at the Los Angeles Chargers, and their first home game won't be until Oct. 8 against the Tennessee Titans (see full story).
Bills: QB Taylor cleared of concussion, to start vs. Jets
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor has been cleared from concussion protocol and coach Sean McDermott says he will start in the season opener against the New York Jets on Sunday.
McDermott made the announcement before the team returned to practice on Wednesday following a day off.

Taylor passed his final concussion-related test after returning to practice on Monday. He has been out since being hurt during the second series of Buffalo's 13-9 preseason loss at Baltimore on Aug. 26.
With Taylor's status previously uncertain, the Bills faced the possibility of starting rookie Nathan Peterman. Buffalo also shuffled its quarterbacks this week by signing free agent Joe Webb and placing T.J. Yates on injured reserve. Yates also sustained a concussion against Baltimore (see full story).
Giants: Beckham stretches with team for 1st time since ankle injury
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is back on the field and stretching with his teammates for the first time since injuring an ankle more than two weeks ago.
Beckham didn't appear to favor his left ankle, and he jogged easily as the team stretched its legs in starting to get ready for the season opener in Dallas on Sunday night.
Beckham's status for the game has been in doubt since the injury. He rode a stationary bike Monday while the team stretched.
After the stretching Wednesday, he went to the sideline and worked with trainers.
The media had to leave before practice started, so it was not known if the three-time Pro Bowler would participate.
His ankle didn't appear to be taped (see full story).
