ATLANTA, Ga. -- Dan Uggla belted a pair of solo homers off Carlos Zambrano to extend his hitting streak to an Atlanta-record 32 games and lead the Braves to a 10-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Friday night.
Uggla passed Rico Carty's 31-game streak in 1970 for the longest in Atlanta Braves history when he led off the second with his 25th homer.
Zambrano (9-7) gave up eight runs and eight hits, including a career-worst five homers, in 4 1-3 innings.
Zambrano was ejected by umpire Tim Timmons in the fifth inning after throwing two inside pitches to Chipper Jones, the second going all the way to the backstop. The brush-back pitches followed homers by Freddie Freeman and Uggla.
Jones and Jose Constanza also went deep against Zambrano.

Starlin Castro homered and Alfonso Soriano had two RBIs for the Cubs, who had won nine of 11.
Uggla went 3 for 3 and scored three times. His streak, which began on July 5, is the longest in the majors this season. He has raised his batting average from .173 to .229.
Tommy Holmes holds the franchise record with a 37-game hitting streak as a member of the Boston Braves in 1945.
Marlins 2, Giants 1

MIAMI, Fla. -- Ricky Nolasco allowed one run in eight innings and the Florida Marlins snapped a seven-game losing streak Friday night by beating the San Francisco Giants 2-1.
Florida improved to 4-0 this season against the defending World Series champions.
The erratic Marlins had been 0-7 on their homestand, but Nolasco (9-8) outpitched All-Star Matt Cain. Nolasco struck out four, walked one and gave up six hits.
Leo Nunez pitched around a leadoff single in the ninth to earn his 32nd save in 36 chances. Center fielder Dewayne Wise -- a ninth-inning defensive replacement -- made a lunging catch of Cody Ross' fly at the warning track for the second out.
The Giants set an NL record for consecutive solo home runs when Pablo Sandoval hit one in the first inning. Their past 20 homers have been solo shots, breaking the record of 19 set by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1914.
San Francisco subsequently hit into two double plays and lost another runner when Aubrey Huff was thrown out trying to steal.
Two of the first three Florida batters scored against Cain (9-9). He then settled down to pitch six innings, allowing no more runs, but lost his third start in a row.
There was no evidence of lingering ill will between the teams, who met for the first time since their series in May, when Giants catcher Buster Posey broke his leg in a collision with Florida's Scott Cousins.
Diamondbacks 4, Mets 3

PHOENIX -- Ian Kennedy won his seventh straight start to become the National League's second 15-game winner and the Arizona Diamondbacks widened their newfound NL West lead with a 4-3 victory over the New York Mets on Friday night.
Kennedy (15-3) allowed a run on six hits in seven innings to tie Philadelphia's Roy Halladay for the most wins in the NL.
Justin Upton homered, Cody Ransom doubled in two runs and Kennedy helped himself with an RBI double as Arizona pulled two games ahead of second-place San Francisco, which lost 2-1 at Florida.
Jason Bay went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI single in the Mets' third straight loss and ninth in 12 games.
Arizona first baseman-outfielder Xavier Nady's left hand was broken when he was hit by a pitch from the Mets' Dillon Gee in the second inning.
