Tonight's lineup: Tyler Goeddel replaces Cody Asche against lefty Robbie Ray

As the Phillies head into the final series of their current road trip aiming to salvage a winning record after losing four of their first six, manager Pete Mackanin realizes that offense isn't currently the team's most dire problem (see game notes).

Mackanin makes only two changes to the lineup that lost, 8-7, in San Francisco Sunday afternoon (see story), replacing catcher Carlos Ruiz with Cameron Rupp and spelling leftfielder Cody Asche.

Rupp blasted a game-winning, two-run home run off Giants ace Madison Bumgarner on Saturday in his last plate appearance. Ruiz started Sunday to catch a struggling Aaron Nola (see story).

Tyler Goeddel takes Asche's spot against Diamondbacks lefty Robbie Ray. Asche went 1 for 3 with a double in Ray's last outing versus the Phillies on July 17. Out of his 72 at-bats this season, Asche has just eight against left-handed pitching.

The top two in the lineup remain intact following Sunday's success: Odubel Herrera stays in the leadoff spot, while Peter Bourjos keeps his place behind him after a 3-for-4 effort against Johnny Cueto and the Giants' bullpen. Before Saturday, when he led off for the Phils, Bourjos hadn't hit above sixth in the order this season.
