WASHINGTON -- Point guard John Wall has agreed a contract extension with the Washington Wizards.
Two people familiar with the deal say it is worth about $80 million over five years. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team's announcement Wednesday did not reveal financial terms.
Wall, 22, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft, immediately becoming the prime building block for a club that missed the playoffs each of the past five seasons.
He has averaged 16.9 points, eight assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 35.8 minutes per game during his career, starting 172 of 184 games.
In the Wizards' release announcing the extension, Wall says he will do "everything I can to get this team back where it belongs" (see full story).
Mavericks: Devin Harris returns
DALLAS -- Free agent Devin Harris has officially rejoined the Dallas Mavericks.
The 10th-year guard was acquired as the No. 5 pick on draft night in 2004 and spent his first 3 seasons with Dallas before a trade with New Jersey that brought Jason Kidd back to the Mavericks.

Harris originally agreed to join Dallas nearly a month ago, but the contract was held up by concerns over a toe injury.
He averaged 9.9 points and 3.4 assists per game for Atlanta last season and has career averages of 12.8 points and 4.9 assists.
Harris had his best season with the Nets in 2008-09, when he averaged 21.3 points and 6.9 assists and made the All-Star team.
Terms of the deal announced Wednesday weren't released.
Rockets: Jones accused of stomping incident
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police say Houston Rockets forward Terrence Jones has been arrested in Portland, Ore., and accused of stomping on a homeless man's leg.
Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says the incident happened early Wednesday outside a downtown nightclub. A sergeant saw the 6-foot-9 Jones walk by a doorway where two homeless men were sleeping and yell "Wake Up!" before lifting his foot and stomping on the leg of one.
Jones was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a harassment charge.
The homeless man, identified as 46-year-old Daniel Kellerher, had a minor injury that did not require immediate medical attention.
Jones graduated from Portland's Jefferson High School before attending the University of Kentucky.
