The Soul took down the Washington Valor, 49-31, at the Verizon Center Saturday night.

The Soul move to 2-0 on the young season thanks to a strong defensive effort after the break.

“Tonight was not one of our strongest performances,” said head coach Clint Dolezel. “We held the Valor to a scoreless second half but there is still some more work to do.”

Soul quarterback Dan Raudabaugh completed 23 of 36 passes for 247 yards and five touchdowns.

Wide receiver Shaun Kauleinamoku led the way receiving with 12 catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Darius Reynolds added six receptions for 76 yards and three touchdowns.

The Soul return to Philly to host the Baltimore Brigade in their home opener next Saturday at 7 p.m.
