Phillies @ Marlins: 4.13

Phillies @ Marlins: 4.13

Corey Lidle 0-0 vs. Dontrelle Willis 1-0, 1:05 PM.

To keep you busy: Rocky spoof;  Watch highlights from yesterday's Phillies game including ESPN's #1 Webgem of the day "Stop. Drop. and J-Roll"

Wayne Campbell, "Game On!"
-Bad joke by Harry the K about the Phillies having to take the "D-Train" home if they lose.  ouch.  Polanco and Micheals are in the SL.

Top 1: Dontrelle Willis looks sharp as he puts down the Phillies in order: J-Rol, Polanco, and Abreu all ground out.  Willis almost hit Abreu with 2 straight pitches.
Bot 1: Lidle got behind Pierre but got him to ground out.  Great bunt by Castillo and a throwing error on Bell gets Castillo over to third.  Bell probably shouldn't have made a throw.  Marlins take 1-0 lead on Sac Fly by Cabrera to Burrell.  Delgado hits a rocket grounder which Polanco makes a great play on to end the inning.

I might switch banks because Citizen's Bank has the worst commercials ever.

Top 2: Burrell Ks on a BIG Wiff.. that ball would have gone to the upper deck where he hit one two nights ago.  Thome Ks.  13th all time in Ks I believe.  Jason Micheals grounds out; Another easy inning for Dontrelle.

Bot 2: Pop out to Abreu; Conine hits a shot to center but Michaels makes a nice little grab; Easley is playing SS today.. works the count full and then hits a SHOT to left HIGH off the wall.. only gets a double.  Treanor the backup catcher hits an RBI single to left to put Florida up 2-0.  Willis Ks.

Top 3: Bell leads off with a K.  Third strikeout for Willis.  Lieberthal grounds out to short.  Lidle Ks. Willis' 4th K.

The Phillies can't seem to get anything going with their bats today against Willis.  2-0 Florida.

Bot 3:
Pierre grounds out to Polanco.  Castillo pops out to Burrell.  Cabrera flys out to Abreu.  Pretty boring game so far.  Maybe the Phillies can get a hit in the 4th and wake me up a little.  Lidle is pitching OK, but Willis is just lights out.

Top 4: Basehit Jimmy Rollins!  Bloop single to center.  Polanco hits a week grounder to Lowell.  1 Out; Rollins to second.  Abreu takes the count to full, then fights a few off and finally grounds out.  Burrell Ks to end the inning.

I gotta go..

Well, the Phillies lost.  Dontrelle Willis pitched a phenomenal game.  I guess the Phillies are taking the "D-train" home back to Philly.

Report: Darren Sproles out indefinitely with broken arm

It appears the Eagles have lost running back Darren Sproles for a while.

Sproles, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, suffered a broken arm in Sunday's 27-24 victory over the Giants and is out indefinitely.

Sproles left the game early in the second quarter with what was announced as a wrist injury and did not return after running the ball three times for 11 yards.

Despite his loss, the Eagles' run game thrived. Wendell Smallwood, LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement combined for 160 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 30 carries.

Veteran Torrey Smith, for the time being at least, will take over as the Eagles' punt returner. Smith returned one punt Sunday for nine yards. He tweeted it was his first punt return since high school.

The 34-year-old Sproles seemed to be contemplating retirement after last season, his 11th in the NFL, but backed off this spring during OTAs.

"We're gonna see," Sproles said in June. "Right after we make the playoffs, then come back and ask me."
