Phillies (38-26) vs. Cubs (25-37), 4:10 p.m. on FOX
Phillies: Cliff Lee (5-5, 3.62) is undefeated in four starts against the Cubs (3-0). Last year, while with Seattle, he notched nine strikeouts in nine innings against the Cubs. To date, Lee has six double-digit strikeout games and his 100 strikeouts this season ranks among the league's best.
Cubs: Matt Garza (2-5, 4.07) is making his second start since returning from the the disabled list following elbow surgery. In his last start on Monday, he yielded four runs in four innings against the Reds. Garza's first career start against the Phillies came in Game 3 of the 2008 World Series where he allowed four runs in six innings.
The Phillies topped the Cubs 7-5 Friday night on the strength of a Placido Polanco grand slam in the seventh inning. When Roy Halladay stepped off the mound after seven innings of work he carried a 7-0 lead. Jose Contreras and J.C. Romero combined to allow five runs in a dreadful eighth inning.
The Cubs won Thursday's series opener, 4-3, in 11 innings.
The Cubs took four of six games from the Phillies last season.
Despite posting seven runs on eight hits Friday night the Phillies' offense is still sputtering. Prior to Friday, the Phillies had scored less than four runs in seven of their previous eight games.
Chicago will look to bounce back after being shut out by Halladay for seven innings. Aramis Ramirez drove in two runs Friday night and has hit safely in four straight games.
Should the Phillies re-sign Jimmy Rollins?
