Starting Pitchers
Phillies: Roy Oswalt (5-7, 3.84 ERA) will go for his second win against the Nationals in a week when he takes the mound tonight. Last Saturday, Oswalt was the winning pitcher in an 11-3 Phillies win. He surrendered three runs in seven innings in registering his first win since June 12.

Nationals: Livan Hernandez (7-11, 4.21) stopped the Phillies last Friday, allowing one unearned run in 6 23 innings of a 4-2 Nationals win. Hes 2-1 against the Phils this season, and his 13 career wins against them is the most of all active pitchers in baseball.

Previous games
The Phillies and Nationals split two games last Friday and Saturday before Sundays game was a washout. The Phillies took two of three from the NL West leading Diamondbacks, including last nights 4-1 victory which included a lengthy rain delay. David Herndon got the win, coming on for Vance Worley after the downpour, while John Mayberry hit a two-run homer off of the foul pole.

Head-to-head
The Phillies are 7-4 this season against Washington. ... After this three-game set, the Nationals visit Philadelphia again from Sep. 20-22, including a doubleheader on the 20th.

Whos hot?
Since returning to the Phillies in late July, Mayberry is hitting .308 with seven home runs and 22 RBIs.

Storylines
Shane Victorino will be serving the second of his two-game suspension tonight, while Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz both sat out Thursdays series finale with Arizona due to minor ailments. The Phillies have lost just three of their last 18 games, and are 11-1 in their last 12 road games.
