The Sixers (21-27) are off Thursday after losing to the Pacers (31-19) Wednesday night, 88-69, in their first game without Thad Young. (see story)
In a small roster move, the club has signed Jeremy Pargo to a 10-day contract, following the expiration of Shelvin Mack's 10-day deal. (see story)
With the Sixers off, here's a few games to keep an eye on tonight:
Lakers at Celtics, 8:00 p.m.
The Lakers (23-26) and Celtics (25-23) will meet for the first time this season in a matchup of injured teams.
Lakers power forward Pau Gasol will miss at least six weeks with a tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot and Dwight Howard most likely miss his fourth game in a row with a shoulder injury.
Boston, meanwhile, is without Rajon Rondo, who's out for the season with a torn ACL. That said, the Celtics are 5-0 without him and Paul Pierce has recorded triple-double and three double-doubles since the injury.
Bulls at Nuggets, 10:30 p.m.
The Bulls (29-19) and Nuggets (31-18) will play against each other for the first time this season.
Chicago has played well this season considering Derrick Rose has yet to play a single game after suffering a torn ACL in last year’s playoff series against the Sixers. Joakim Noah has been a huge contributor for the Bulls, averaging 12.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
The Nuggets are fourth in the Western Conference and on a seven-game winning streak. Andre Iguodala is averaging 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
