Major League Soccer has moved the Union's match against the Colorado Rapids to Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m. ET (1 p.m. MT) because of severe weather conditions in the Denver area on Saturday.
The Comcast Network will broadcast the game live on Sunday.
Forecasts in the Denver area for Saturday are calling for as much as over a foot of snow with winds of 15 to 30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph, creating low visibility, drifting snow and hazardous road conditions.
A blizzard warning has been issued for Adams County, Colo., which includes Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, and a travel advisory has asked people in the area to travel only in the case of emergency.
The decision was made following a Saturday morning meeting between MLS officials and representatives from both clubs.
The Union opened their season with a 3-1 loss to Sporting KC at PPL Park last Saturday. Sebastien Le Toux netted the Union's lone goal.
Colorado also dropped its season opener after getting shut out by FC Dallas, 1-0, last Saturday. The Rapids' match with the Union on Sunday will be their home opener.
