One day prior to the Union's season opener, John Hackworth's club has signed a trio of players to finalize their roster heading into Saturday's contest.
On Friday, the Union signed Don Anding, Leo Fernandes and Chris Konopka.
Anding is a SuperDraft selection of the Union, Fernandes is a supplemental pick of the team, while Konopka is a returning goalie.
All three players have been training with the Union from the start of the preseason and the terms of their deals cannot be released, per club and MLS policies.
Anding, a 21-year-old defender, was drafted out of Northeastern where he was a 2012 College Player of the Year semifinalist and an NSCAA third team All-American.
Fernandes, a Stony Brook product, was selected 62nd overall in the MLS Supplemental draft. At Stony Brook, the 21-year-old was a three-time America East midfielder of the year.
Konopka returns to the Union after competing in his first season with the team last year. The 27-year-old goalie was drafted in 2007 by Kansas City and last season, he made one start and recorded six saves.
The Union begin their season on Saturday at 4 p.m. at PPL Park against Sporting KC.
