New Jersey native and Everton/USMNT goalie Tim Howard scored the Toffee's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Bolton. Howard broke out his 9-iron, played the wind perfectly, and drove a shot the length of the field to beat Bolton keeper Adam Bogdan on the bounce.
You've got love Howard's somewhat sheepish reaction to having scored - a) not wanting to show up fellow keeper Bogdan and b) not wanting to upset the karma sensitive soccer gods.
Howard joins fellow American and current Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel, Peter Schmeichel and Paul Robinson as the only goalies to score a goal in the modern incarnation of the Premier League.
