A pair of Philadelphia Soul defenders were honored on Wednesday, as defensive end Teddy Jennings and defensive back Rayshaun Kizer were both named to the 2014 All-Arena Team.
Jennings was named First team All-Arena, while Kizer was a second team selection.
“Teddy and Rayshaun are both well deserving of these honors," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said in a released statement. “Both were key pieces to our defense and should help keep them motivated to continue their success for the betterment of the team next season."
In just his rookie season, Jennings made an immediate impact, finishing fourth in the AFL with a franchise record tying 11 sacks. He also registered 26 takles, two forced fumbles,one fumble recovery and a blocked kick.
Kizer finished fourth in the league in tackles with 101 and eighth in interceptions with nine. He also had a career high 35 pass break-ups and set an AFL single-game postseason record with four interceptions in the Soul's 39-37 playoff loss to the Cleveland Gladiators.
The AFL will announce the All-Arena offensive team on Thursday.
