The Soul on Thursday acquired offensive lineman Duke Robinson from the Spokane Shock in exchange for defensive back Fred Shaw.
"We had the opportunity to get some depth in our offensive line and we decided to make the move," said Soul head coach, Clint Dolezel. "The offensive line is a position where you can never have too much talent and Robinson will be a welcome addition to our group."
In his second AFL season, Robinson (6-2/220) has recorded two tackles and one interception for nine yards. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL draft (163rd overall) after playing four seasons at the University of Oklahoma. He was named First Team All-American as a junior and senior while a Sooner, as well as a member of Sports Illustrated's All-Decade team in 2009.
Shaw, whom the Soul acquired from the San Antonio Talons earlier this year, tallied nine tackles and one forced fumble while in Philadelphia.
The Soul also received future considerations as part of the deal. They will host the Talons Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center.
