‘As Long As You Don't Bring Your Gayness On Me, I'm Fine'

Share

That's an actual quote from Sixer Shavlik Randolph in regards to former Penn State standout John Amaechi's coming out as gay man who once played in the NBA.  Wow.  Leave it to a floorslapper.

From ESPN's Page 2:

Truth: The most ignorant reaction to Amaechi's coming out was from Philadelphia 76ers forward Shavlik Randolph, who said: "As long as you don't bring your gayness on me I'm fine. As far as business-wise, I'm sure I could play with him. But I think it would create a little awkwardness in the locker room." Bring your gayness on me? As if sexuality can be passed on like a cold. Also, way to continue the stereotype that gay men are lusty predators.
